Title
Dolly Nomchong wearing her mother's wedding dress
Date
1910?
Interpretive description

Based on the wristwatch, hair style and head dress the National Library of Australia date for this photograph of 1877 can not be correct. Ellis describes the photograph as being of Dolly not Nell. If the photograph was taken c1910 it is more likely to be of Dolly (Lucy 1894-1928) than Nell (Catherine 1901-1961). According to family historian James M Walters, Dolly and Nell's mother, Mary, came out from China in 1887 after marrying Chee Dock Nom Chong in Hong Kong in the same year.
