Interpretive description

Photograph has been dated based on the dates of the Kilgour collection. The Northern Territory Library version of this image has been cropped slightly more than the Northern Territory Archives Service version. The NTAS version has also been taken from a slightly different angle. John Kilgour left the Northern Territory in 1917. According to notes associated with this collection written by Norman Bell who knew the Kilgour family and organised the donation, 'He was an experienced amateur photographer and his collection of photographs will, I think, be of Darwin and the North end during the period from 1907 to 1917'.
