Mr Gooey operated a Chinese market garden in Charles Street North Perth.
Previously a school teacher in China. Arrived in Australia in 1887 in Launceston, Tasmania and settled in WA later. Mrs Gooey arrived in Fremantle in 1901, one of the last Chinese to arrive after the introduction of the Restricted Immigration Act
