Summary

Leong On Tong was one of the few early Chinese preachers trained by the Wesleyan church in Castlemaine. He was trained along with Leong A Toe and James Moy Ling. Leong On Tong succeeded Leong A-Toe when A-Toe returned to China. Leong On Tong became a probationer in 1872 and was ordained in the Wesleyan ministry in 1876. He was photographed as a member of the Wesleyan Chinese Mission in Victoria c1883. Leong On Tong also returned to China in 1885.
