This collection comprises 26 albumen photoprints - 12.8 x 19.6 cm., on mounts 20.5 x 27 cm. The photographs in this collection illustrate some of the inspections by No.1 Sub-Committee, R.B. Read and M. Chapman of their report 'To inquire into the state of crowded dwellings and areas in the city of Sydney and suburbs, so far as it affects public health'. The inscriptions on the photograh mounts indicate they were clearly taken to illustrate the report but do not appear to have been reproduced.
